About Me

I worked in healthcare since 1997, and as a Registered Mental Nurse (RMN / Psychiatric Nurse) since 2003.  I have worked in a variety of settings, including: Dementia Care; Eating Disorders; Dual Diagnosis (substance use and mental health); and Severe and Enduring Mental Illness.

It was working in the substance misuse field which introduced me to Auricular Acupuncture, training in 2004 to administer the 5x point detox protocol as part of my role as a mental health nurse; and I ran a successful weekly acupuncture group for 12 years.   This led to an increasing interest in Complementary Therapies and a general desire to treat more holistically.   I completed my First Degree Reiki in 2005.

I later trained in Reflexology at the Oxford School of Reflexology, which taught the Inge Dougans method, incorporating Traditional Chinese Medicine with reflexology.  I qualified in 2010, and am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists.  I also completed the Hopi Ear Candle diploma in 2010.

In 2017, I finally took the plunge and left the NHS to concentrate on my holistic therapy business, and have never looked back!

A Holistic Therapist never stops learning.  There is such a wealth of expertise out there, and it is fascinating to meet with other therapists and learn new techniques which can enhance the treatments I offer.  Since qualifying as a Reflexologist, I have completed training which allows me to teach Baby Reflex techniques to mums and dads, and grandparents, which they can then use to help keep their baby healthy and happy.

I have completed training in Aromatherapy for the Feet which allows me to personalise a blend of essential oils to use as part of a reflexology treatment, and includes a lovely foot and lower leg massage.    In 2016  I  completed a Hot Stone Reflexology course – incorporating hot stones into the treatment helps enhance both the feeling of relaxation that the client experiences, and allows the reflexes can be worked more deeply.   In 2017, I undertook training in Chinese Reflexology which is a firmer, more energising treatment which incorporates the use of wooden tools to deliver reflexology in a different way.

I completed my training in the Bowen Technique in 2016 and am still so excited to offer this amazing therapy, whose gentle movements can have such powerful results in all areas of health, including: muscular skeletal issues, pain relief, hormone imbalance, digestive disorders or stress.  Since qualifying, I have continued to develop further skills, including Mother and Baby Bowen, and courses specialising in Sports Bowen.  As a runner myself, sports injury (prevention and treatment), and maintaining a healthy body is something I am passionate about.   Please do take a look at the Bowen pages on my website to see how it may help you.

2018 was a busy year – introducing McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release to my skill base, and witnessing such amazing results that I went on to train to be an instructor in this technique!  What I love most about this technique is not only the effect it can have on scars no matter how old they are, but that the techniques can be applied to areas of underlying scar tissue where there is no external scar – think hamstring or Achilles tears, with incredible results!

I have also offered some very successful  Corporate Reflexology days this year, and am excited to be developing this further next year.   Reflexology, Bowen and Reiki treatments all lend themselves well to taster treatments in the workplace, so please do get in touch to chat about how these could help your business.

I am fully insured to offer all of the treatments above.  Please note that as a complementary therapist, I do not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe.  None of the above treatments should be used as a substitute for seeking professional advice with respect to any ailment.

Treatments are usually offered in my relaxing treatment room at my home, though treatments at your workplace may be available.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like any more information –

I look forward to hearing from you soon!
